Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career shortly after enrolling at Stanford University. At the beginning of her career, she played parts in films like Pleasantville and Election. But it is Elle Woods' portrayal in Legally Blonde which marked a major pivotal moment in her career. Witherspoon also won an Academy Award in the year 2005 for her role in Walk the Line. Water for Elephants this means war as well as Wild are among her most recent films for which she was considered for nomination to an Oscar. Witherspoon was also an accomplished TV producer as well as the star of David E. Kelley's award winning TV show Big Little Lies. Witherspoon was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon on February 22, 1976, at New Orleans Louisiana. Witherspoon was born in New Orleans Louisiana on March 22 in 1976. In the comedy The Invisible Man, 2003 she debuted in a major feature film. The television debut of her career was House of Lies Whitney. Also, she was in two films The Dictator and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Alongside her acting career she is also an accomplished painter and has shown her work in numerous galleries.
